LEASED HOUSING REPRESENTATIVE

Put your great clerical and people skills together for our immediate full-time position for an energetic team player in our Leased Housing Department at the Franklin county Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA). The successful candidate is a person that can handle a large volume of paperwork and has the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well independently, have a high attention to detail and adapt well to change. Sensitivity to challenges faced by low-income people is a must.
Qualifications: A team player with strong verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to perform general math computations; ability to interpret complex regulations; must possess general computer skills (Word & Excel); experience with housing subsidy programs preferred; bi-lingual in Spanish an added plus.
Job duties include: Independently organize files so the necessary records and documents are processed and updated within specific time limits; interview applicants and participants to obtain financial and other eligibility data; determine housing program eligibility; interpret and apply federal, state, and local housing program rules and regulations; explain housing programs and regulations to applicants and participants; contact and notify applicants and participants regarding eligibility and status.

The Franklin County Regional Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA) has an immediate opening for a 25-30 hour Housing Inspector position. Ideal candidate will have general knowledge of building, plumbing, electrical and the State Sanitary Code. Prior experience in housing inspection code enforcement and knowledge of Mass Lead Paint Laws required.
Must be reliable, a strong team player, and show good judgment in enforcing housing quality standards. Good verbal and written skills essential; computer knowledge a must; knowledge of Franklin County area, as well as sensitivity to diverse populations a must. A valid Massachusetts driver’s license and access to a dependable motor vehicle required.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus. Competitive pay rate with full benefit package available.
